Workshops 2009
Mother’s Day Special | Introduction to Carpentry and Power Tools for Women
SE Portland, Oregon
May 9, 2009, 10am - 6pm
Cost: $100, vegetarian lunch included.
This course covers the basics of power tool safety and use, construction fundamentals, and terminology. Learn from women in a fun and nurturing environment. This class is ideal for women who are intimidated by power tools. We guarantee you will leave feeling confident in using basic tools and have a good foundation for learning more. Tools to be covered: cordless drill, circular saw, jig saw, sawz-all and chop saw.

Women’s Carpentry Class
July 18th, 2009, 9am - 6pm
Cost: $230, all materials provided
Learn basic carpentry skills while you build your own solar oven. Every student goes home with their own oven to make delicious meals. This is a great beginner project! Vegetarian lunch included.

Southern Oregon Women’s Carpentry Extravaganza
Southern Oregon (near Ashland!)
August 30 to September 7, 2009

Lodging: Camping provided
Two beautiful locations, two start to finish projects.

Shout out to women interested in hosting a women’s carpentry workshop!
You: Located in Portland, have a location you would like to build a small project, are willing to purchase all materials, and are interested in learning carpentry and how to use power tools.
We: provide expert instruction, a safe and empowering working/learning environment, all written information and tools.
Can be done as group enrollment if you have 7 or more interested female friends (discounts for mother/daughter teams!), or if you can share the experience with women with similar interests.
